RICHMOND, VA – (Thursday, February 14, 2013) – The Richmond Kickers U14, U16 and U18 Academy teams travel to Charleston, SC, February 15-18 to compete against two of the nation’s finest clubs, Chicago Fire and CASL. In addition to playing games against elite competition, the Academy players will benefit from watching Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire, Vancouver Whitecaps and Houston Dynamo battle USL PRO’s own Charleston Battery for the Charleston Battery Challenge Cup.
As an added highlight, the Kickers U18 team will cap off the weekend with a match up against the Chicago Fire at Blackbaud Stadium, the state-of-the-art home of the Battery.

Richmond Kickers Cost-Free Academy Tryouts
Players interested in joining the Richmond Kickers Academy should send the following information: player’s name, date of birth and a detailed playing history including references, to Leigh Cowlishaw, Director of Soccer at lcowlishaw@https://www.richmondkickers.com. The club has four discovery roster positions available for the current season. Guaranteed Academy roster spots for the 2013-14 squads will be awarded to select players on an ongoing basis.
