The combine is set for December 10 and 11, 2022 in Richmond, Va.

RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Kickers look to continue building upon the success of three-straight winning seasons and back-to-back playoff appearances under Chief Sporting Officer and Head Coach Darren Sawatzky as they are set to host a pro combine December 10-11, 2022. A select number of players will be invited to participate in two days of intense training and scrimmages in front of the Kickers pro team technical staff.
Eligible college seniors, qualified free agents, and talented amateur players that are seeking a professional contract are encouraged to register now at RichmondKickers.com.
“Hosting these opportunities is a great way to see players play live against other prospective players in a very competitive environment,” said Kickers’ Sporting Director and Head Coach, Darren Sawatzky. “We look forward to watching and evaluating players and hopefully we can find players for the roster in 2023 like we did this past season.”

Attendance at the player combine is one of the best ways to ensure that a player’s complete soccer resume and professional evaluation are in front of key decision-makers for the Richmond Kickers. Training sessions will take place in front of the professional coaching staff, led by Coach Sawatzky.
The Kickers have a history of successful recruitment through its pro combines. Most recently, several members of the 2022 roster — including Christian Molina, Chandler O’Dwyer, and Eli Mumford as well as 2021 attendees Chris Cole and Austin Causey — were discovered through the combine by our scouting and coaching staff.
Past combines have also produced such prominent players as 2016 USL Defender of the Year Finalist and All-League First Team Defender Hugh Roberts, 2013 USL Rookie of the Year Nate Robinson, Clyde Simms (New England Revolution, D.C. United and U.S. Men’s National Team), Ronnie Pascale (Three-time USL Goalkeeper of the Year), Tim Brown (New Zealand National Team) and Robert Ssejjemba (2006 USL MVP and Ugandan National Team).
Interested players should submit an application and a $150 registration fee by December 1, 2022. Space is limited and applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees are non-refundable and must be paid in advance, online only. No checks or cash will be accepted. No payments will be accepted on the day of the tryouts. Application fees increase to $200 after the registration deadline of December 1, 2022. Attendance at all sessions is required.
