The Roos were mathematically guaranteed a spot after North Carolina FC’s 2-1 win over Central Valley Fuego FC, Wednesday night.

TAMPA, Fla. – The Richmond Kickers became the first team to clinch a spot in the 2022 USL League One Playoffs, presented by Hisense, Wednesday night following North Carolina FC’s 2-1 win over Central Valley Fuego FC.
Richmond currently sits atop the league table with a five-point lead over second-place Greenville Triumph SC and third-place Union Omaha with only three matches remaining in the season.
With a win in their next match on Sunday, Oct. 2, and draws or losses from both Greenville and Omaha over the weekend, the Kickers can clinch the number one overall seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with two matches remaining in the regular season.
The Kickers have two upcoming road matches on Sunday, Oct. 2 at South Georgia Tormenta FC and Saturday, Oct. 8 at Forward Madison FC before returning home to host Greenville Triumph SC in the USL League One regular-season finale. The club will host Fan Appreciation Night. Kickoff on Oct. 15 is set for 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at richmondkickers.com/tickets.

About the 2022 USL League One Playoffs Presented by Hisense
The USL League One season concludes Saturday, October 15 with a five-game slate of action and plenty on the line. The 2022 USL League One Playoffs also features a single-elimination format with the No. 3 seed set to play host to the No. 6 seed, and the No. 4 seed to play host to the No.5 seed in the Quarterfinals. The lower remaining seed will then advance to face the No. 1 seed in the Semifinals, with the No. 2 seed to host the higher remaining seed from the opening round.
