Elite Girls Claim Ninth Straight VCCL Championship

The Richmond Kickers Elite Girls (U11 through U18 teams) once again showed why the Kickers are considered the number one girls program in the region claiming the VCCL Girls Championship for the ninth straight season.  The U13 Girls Elite, U14 Girls Elite, U16 Girls Elite and U17 Girls Elite all went undefeated on the season to claim their respective age group divisional championship, while the U17 Girls Elite team shared the spoils with the Richmond Strikers U17 Girls.  The U11 Girls Elite, U12 Girls Elite and U15 Girls Elite all finished as runner-ups in their respective divisions while the U18 Girls Elite team shared third place honors with the Richmond Strikers U18 Girls.  Overall, the Richmond Kickers Girls posted an impressive 45 wins, five ties and six losses record with an awesome display of attacking soccer.
"Our Girls program continues to deliver impressive performances and results," commented Ihor Dotsenko, Richmond Kickers Technical Director.  "The first sign of any high quality program is the ability of that program to perform consistently well at the highest level over a long period of time.  Over the last several years, our girls have done exactly that – improving with each season, raising the expectations and delivering superb performances."
This year’s successes of the girls program have raised the bar again creating a tradition of excellence that future players and teams can aspire toward. In addition to the VCCL Girls Championship, the U17 Girls Elite and the U18 Girls Elite team are participating in the State Cup Final Four, Katie Cousins has been invited to the U15 Girls National team, numerous girls have consistently been selected to participate in the US Soccer Training Centers and the number of  Division 1 colleges and universities expressing interest in Kickers players is at an all time high.

Congrats Girls!
