RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Kickers (8-8-7) return to City Stadium, Wednesday, Oct. 6, to host rivals Forward Madison (6-5-11) with a potential six-point swing in the balance as the Reds continue their playoff push with five matches remaining on the schedule.
The Kickers prepare to host Forward Madison for a midweek match after a quick turnaround from hosting Chattanooga over the weekend. The Reds played the second-place team for their second matchup of the season and came out on top with a goal by Emiliano Terzaghi, his 14th this season, and retained their ninth clean sheet of the season. With the win against Chattanooga, Richmond is only two points away from a playoff position.
Richmond’s defense was superb in holding a clean sheet against Chattanooga’s dynamic attack. Jalen Crisler was an unsung hero for his efforts on the defensive end as well as creating the opportunity for Terzaghi to score his goal. Crisler had the most clearances in the squad (9) as well as interceptions (4).
Both Akira Fitzgerald and Terzaghi were named in USL League One’s Team of the Week presented by Cleer Audio for their valiant efforts in earning three points for the second week in a row.
The last time the Reds faced Forward Madison was in early September at Breese Stevens Field in Wisconsin. Richmond ended up conceding a goal to Forward Madison’s Ryan Sierakowski early in the second half.
Forward Madison’s last match was against New England Revolution II. Madison played on the road at Gillette Stadium and wound up conceding a goal in the 58th minute to Revs II’s Edward Kizza. Madison will continue their road stretch to face Richmond for the first time at City Stadium where the Reds have now won two matches in a row and have only lost one match this season.
Following the match against Forward Madison, Richmond will travel to Arlington, Texas to face North Texas SC for the second matchup of the season. The previous fixture was an exciting, high-scoring game that saw Richmond getting the edge over North Texas in a 3-2 win. Sunday, October 10. Kickoff for that match is set for 7:00 p.m.

Richmond Kickers
Akira Fitzgerald (#1) is enjoying a good run of form in between the sticks. Having kept two clean sheets in a row and making countless spectacular saves, Fitzgerald leads the league in clean sheets (9) and saves (76).
Matt Bolduc (#7) has been an asset to the club since 2017 and his pace, energy and unrelenting physicality to win balls back and add surging pace to the wings helps create chances out of nothing. Bolduc may only have one goal and one assist this season but he is crucial in the buildup and is always looking to play on the front foot.
Emiliano Terzaghi (#32) is Richmond’s leading goal scorer for two seasons now. Terzaghi leads the league in shots (54), goals (14), and is averaging a goal every 133.4 minutes. Terzaghi is clinical in the box and, whether he scores or not, he plays a crucial role in holding up the ball and creating chances.
Forward Madison
Ryan Sierakowski (#9) is a newly acquired player for Madison this season. Sierakowski has scored five goals this season, and is a versatile option player in the attack. Sierakowski scored in the second half of the match the last time the two sides met.
Jake Keegan (#7) is Madison’s leading goalscorer (6) and has the second-most shots in the league (51). Keegan is a great target man as well as hold-up player. He also leads the team in assists (4) combining to make him a dangerous outlet and catalyst when attacking.
Aaron Molloy (#6) is a great distributing midfielder, not only for Madison but in the league. Molloy has the most passes (1,430), at least a hundred more than the next highest passer. His passing accuracy for the year is 86.7%, he has three assists this season and three goals.
