RICHMOND, Va. – (Tuesday, August 25, 2020) – USL League One announced on Tuesday that Ian Antley has been named to the Team of the Week for Week 6. This marks the second time this season the defender has earned a spot in the Team of the Week.
Antley dropped in a perfect cross to set up the game-winner Friday night at New England to continue the Kickers four-match unbeaten run. The defender was strong on both sides of the ball, posting team highs in both tackles (8) and interceptions (4), while also making two clearances.
The Kickers come back home to City Stadium this Saturday night, August 29 to host the league leaders Greenville Triumph SC, with the Bon Secours Cup on the line at 6:30 p.m. A limited number of tickets are still available at www.richmondkickers.com/Tickets.
USL League One Team of the Week – Week 6
GK – Pablo Jara, South Georgia Tormenta FC: Jara recorded five saves to help keep Tormenta FC in the game on the road against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC as the visitors rallied late to earn a 2-1 victory at CHI Memorial Stadium.
D – Tyler Polak, Greenville Triumph SC: Polak recorded 11 recoveries, made three clearances and completed 34 of 48 passes as Greenville recorded a shutout victory against Fort Lauderdale CF on Saturday night.
D – Ian Antley, Richmond Kickers: Antley won 5 of 8 tackles and 15 of 19 duels and make four interceptions and nine recoveries as the Kickers took a 2-1 victory on the road against the New England Revolution II.
D – Eli Lockaby, Forward Madison FC: Lockaby scored the opening goal, won 6 of 9 duels and 3 of 5 tackles, and completed 34 of 42 passes as Madison took a 3-1 victory against Orlando City B on Sunday night.
M – Marco Micaletto, South Georgia Tormenta FC: Micaletto scored once, recorded five chances created and won 11 of 19 duels as Tormenta FC rallied past Chattanooga Red Wolves SC for a 2-1 victory.
M – Sebastian Contreras, Union Omaha: Contreras recorded a goal and assist across two games for Los Buhos during the week that saw them earn draws against both Forward Madison FC and North Texas SC.
M – Eduardo Sosa, Fort Lauderdale CF: Sosa recorded two assists and four chances created while completing 23 of 28 passes overall and notching two shots on goal in Fort Lauderdale’s 3-2 victory against North Texas SC.
M – Noah Pilato, Greenville Triumph SC: Pilato scored the only goal of the game in spectacular fashion, and made four recoveries and two interceptions while winning 3 of 3 tackles in Greenville’s 1-0 win against Fort Lauderdale CF.
F – Shak Adams, FC Tucson: Adams recorded one goal and two assists while recording four chances created overall and winning 3 of 4 duels to help lead Tucson to a 4-1 victory against Orlando City B.
F – Azaad Liadi, FC Tucson: Liadi struck twice in the opening half-hour of Tucson’s 4-1 victory against Orlando City B and also recorded one key pass and won 9 of 12 duels in a strong all-around display in attack.
F – Ricky Lopez-Espin, Fort Lauderdale CF: Lopez-Espin scored a pair of first-half goals to pave the way for Fort Lauderdale’s 3-2 victory against North Texas SC last Wednesday night while finishing with six shots overall.
