RICHMOND, Va. – (Tuesday, August 11, 2020) – USL League One announced on Tuesday that Ivan Magalhães and Emiliano Terzaghi have been named to the Team of the Week for Week 5.
Magalhães opened the scoring for the Kickers Saturday night in the 2-1 win over Tucson, scoring his first goal both of the season and for the club. On the other side of the ball, the Brazilian had seven clearances and completed 84.8 percent of his passes.
Terzaghi makes his second-straight appearance in the Team of the Week after scoring the game winner Saturday night, his third overall for the season. He had four total shots in the match, putting two of those on target as he continues his early season form.
The Kickers hit the road Friday night, making their first-ever trip to Gillette Stadium to face New England Revolution II at 7:00 p.m. This match will be aired live on WTVR CBS 6.3 (Comcast 206, Verizon FiOS 466) and streaming on ESPN+.
USL League One Team of the Week – Week 5
GK – Dallas Jaye, Greenville Triumph SC: The reigning League One Goalkeeper of the Year recorded a three-save shutout as Greenville took a 1-0 victory against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC for its fourth win in five outings this season.
D – Ivan Magalhães, Richmond Kickers: Magalhães scored his first goal for Richmond and recorded seven clearances and seven recoveries while also winning 5 of 6 aerial duels in the Kickers’ 2-1 win against FC Tucson.
D – Josiah Trimmingham, Forward Madison FC: Trimmingham made three interceptions, three clearances and completed 42 of 54 passes while helping the Flamingos earn a shutout in their 4-0 victory against South Georgia Tormenta FC.
D – Juan Alvarez, North Texas SC: Alvarez recorded a pair of assists and had four chances created while completing 28 of 30 passes overall in North Texas’ thrilling 3-3 draw against the New England Revolution II on Saturday night.
M – Isaac Angking, New England Revolution II: Angking scored his first two professional goals and put three of his four shots on target while also completing 20 of 22 passes in a stellar attacking display against North Texas SC.
M – Paulo Jr., Forward Madison FC: The Brazilian had one goal, one assist and won 10 of 13 duels while completing 3 of 4 dribbles in a strong all-around display during Madison’s 4-0 victory against South Georgia Tormenta FC.
M – Don Smart, Forward Madison FC: Smart was back to his best for the Flamingos as he recorded one goal and two assists while notching four key passes and completing 21 of 26 passes overall in his side’s win against Tormenta FC.
M – Thomas Roberts, North Texas SC: Roberts had one goal but showed off his skills as a playmaker with four key passes among 22 of 27 completed passes overall in North Texas’ 3-3 draw against the New England Revolution II.
M – Emiliano Terzaghi, Richmond Kickers: Terzaghi continued his rich vein of form as he scored once on four shots overall, completed 5 of 8 dribbles and won 11 of 19 duels in Richmond’s 2-1 win against FC Tucson.
F – Wilfredo Rivera, Orlando City B: Rivera scored the opening goal in OCB’s 1-1 draw against in-state rival Fort Lauderdale CF and also completed 9 of 10 passes, had four shots overall and won 2 of 2 tackles on Friday night.
F – Lachlan McLean, Greenville Triumph SC: Brought on as a halftime substitute, McLean scored the only goal and recorded two key passes while completing 10 of 13 passes overall as Greenville earned a 1-0 win against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
