Game Day Volunteer Coordinator
Position Summary
The Richmond Kickers Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for managing the front gate volunteers at all Richmond Kickers pro home games at City Stadium. By demonstrating exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills, the Volunteer Coordinator will ensure that all fans are able to enter the stadium as efficiently as possible. The Volunteer Coordinator should plan on arriving 30 minutes prior to the volunteer call time (approximately 2-2.5 hours prior to kickoff) at each home game and his/her duties will be completed by halftime. Reports to General Manager. Flexible schedule and willingness to work weekends March through October necessary.
Minimum Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend all Kickers pro home games and manage front gate volunteer assignments including, but not limited to, ticket sellers, ticket scanners, ticket takers, Will Call and program distributers, to ensure all fans are able to enter the match as efficiently as possible
- Assist with volunteer training, answer questions and resolve issues
- Oversee and make adjustments to volunteer positions to ensure lines are moving quickly
- Maintain pleasant, professional and well-groomed appearance
- Assist all fans with questions as needed
- Assist all departments with special projects as needed
Minimum Position Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Friendly and outgoing personality, with excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiastic and reliable self-starter who works well in a team environment
- Demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills, organizational skills, positive attitude and willingness to take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays
Ball Persons Coordinator
Position Summary
The Richmond Kickers Assistant Ball Persons Coordinator will be responsible for supervising a team of ball persons at all Kickers professional home games. The volunteer assistant will be an integral member of the game day operations staff and will gain valuable experience in the realm of professional sports management. The individual must be reliable, passionate, and demonstrate the ability to adapt and problem-solve in a fast-paced, team environment. Reports to General Manager and Field Level Manager. Flexible schedule and willingness to work weekends are necessary.
Minimum Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend all Kickers pro home games, including preseason and postseason, and assist Field Level Managers by coordinating a team of 10-12 ball persons
- Ensure ball persons are appropriately attired and receive instructions for game duties and safety protocol
- Distribute and collect game balls and ensure proper ball inflation throughout the match
- Supervise ball persons’ positions throughout the match, making adjustments as needed
- Collect and file appropriate paperwork and waivers
- Assist field level staff with halftime logistics
- Assist game day staff with all pregame and postgame operations, including but not limited to, set up and break down
- Assist all departments with special projects as needed
Minimum Position Qualifications
- Current high school student (age 16+), local college student, or recent graduate preferred
- Enthusiastic and reliable self-starter who works well in a team environment
- Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, organizational skills, thoroughness, positive attitude and willingness to adapt in fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate ability to resolve issues, take initiative and establish priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of and passion for the game of soccer preferred
Game Day Operations Assistant
Position Summary
The Richmond Kickers Game Day Operations Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the field level operations at all Kickers pro home games. The volunteer assistant will be an integral member of the game day operations staff and will gain valuable experience in the realm of professional sports management. The individual must be reliable, passionate, and demonstrate the ability to adapt and problem-solve in a fast-paced, team environment. Reports to General Manager and Field Level Manager. Flexible schedule and willingness to work weekends March through October necessary.
Minimum Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend all Kickers pro home games, including preseason and postseason, and assist Field Level Manager with pregame, in-game and postgame operations, including but not limited to, locker rooms, bench area, and field level
- Act as locker room liaison and assist with all team and/or referee needs
- Assist field level staff with halftime show logistics
- Assist game day staff with pregame set up and postgame breakdown
- Assist all departments with special projects as needed
Minimum Position Qualifications
- Current high school student (age 16+), local college student, or recent graduate preferred
- Enthusiastic and reliable self-starter who works well in a team environment
- Demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills, organizational skills, thoroughness, positive attitude and willingness to adapt in fast-paced environment

Game Day Retail Sales Associate
Position Summary
The Richmond Kickers Game Day Retail Sales Associate will be responsible for creating the ultimate game day shopping experience at all Kickers pro home games. The individual must be reliable and passionate, demonstrate a friendly and outgoing personality and exhibit the ability to adapt and problem-solve in a fast-paced, team environment. Reports to General Manager and Retail Coordinator. Flexible schedule and willingness to work weekends March through October necessary.
Minimum Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and deliver an exceptional fan shopping experience
- Greet and acknowledge guests and engage all types of fans in positive conversation
- Maintain pleasant, professional and well-groomed appearance
- Show expertise when selling product, demonstrate ability to learn and retain inventory knowledge and recommend, select and help locate merchandise for guests
- Routinely assist in merchandise replenishment and visual displays
- Maintain general protection of company assets while adhering to all retail policies and procedures
- Process sales with appropriate point of sale system, accept payments and count change
- Assist game day staff with pregame set up and postgame breakdown of retail displays
- Assist all departments with special projects as needed
Minimum Position Qualifications
- Current high school student (age 16+), local college student, or recent graduate preferred
- Previous retail, sales or customer experience and experience handling cash preferred
- Friendly and outgoing personality with a passion for sales
- Enthusiastic and reliable self-starter who works well in a team environment
- Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, organizational skills, thoroughness, positive attitude and willingness to adapt in fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate ability to resolve issues, take initiative and establish priorities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays
