RICHMOND, VA – (Tuesday, July 12, 2016) – The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce that goalkeeper Travis Worra will join the team on loan from the club’s official Major League Soccer affiliate, D.C. United. He will return to Richmond ahead of Thursday’s match at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh.
Worra made his D.C. United first team debut in April 2015 and has since started 11 matches in his sophomore season. He made 12 appearances in goal for the Kickers on loan during the 2015 campaign, posting 31 saves and five shutouts.
Over four seasons at the University of New Hampshire, Worra started 59 games and tied for second in program history in shutouts, third in wins and seventh in saves. The Lancaster, Pa., native was named America East Goalkeeper of the Year in 2013 and was a First Team All-America East selection.
The Kickers conclude a three-game road trip when they travel to take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Thursday, July 14 before returning to City Stadium to host Swansea City of the world famous English Premier League on Saturday, July 16. Tickets are on sale now at www.richmondkickers.com.
