RICHMOND, VA – (Thursday, April 21, 2016) – Former Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club player Ashley Riefner earned a professional contract with PK-35 of the Finnish Champions League and will report for training on May 1.
Completing her club soccer career with the Richmond Kickers U18 Girls Elite team in 2012, she was a member of the Richmond Kickers since U13 and traveled to Germany and Russia with the Virginia State and Regional ODP teams.
As the Atlee High School co-captain, Riefner, was named AAA Virginia State Player of the Year, leading her high school team with 35 assists, she tallied 20 goals en route to a 19-1 record her senior year. The All-Metro and Central Region Player of the Year, Riefner was a two-time Capital District Player of the Year, two-time First Team All-Central Region and First Team AAA All-State in 2011.
Continuing her career at the University of Richmond, Riefner was a first-team All Atlantic 10 honoree who finished with 44 career points, which ranks as the ninth-highest total in program history. She played in 73 career games, starting 63 of them, including the final 33 games of her career.
