RICHMOND, VA – (Wednesday, June 10, 2015) – The Richmond Kickers announced today that New England Revolution goalkeeper Brad Knighton will join the team on loan ahead of Wednesday’s match up against the Charleston Battery on June 10 at Blackbaud Stadium.
Raised in Richmond, Virginia, the former Richmond Strikers and Mills Godwin High School goalkeeper will join his hometown team for the first time on loan. An MLS veteran, Knighton has made one appearance for the Revolution this season, making two saves in the club’s 4-2 road loss to Sporting Kansas City on May 20. Since beginning his MLS career in 2007, Knighton has appeared in 38 regular-season games with the Revolution, Philadelphia Union and Vancouver Whitecaps FC while also spending the 2011 season with the NASL’s Carolina RailHawks, earning NASL Best XI honors that season.
