RICHMOND, VA – (Tuesday, August 6, 2013) – Richmond Kickers defender Henry Kalungi has been called up for his eighth appearance with the Uganda National team for next week’s International friendly against former Africa Champions Egypt in El Gouana.
The match will serve as a final tune up for the must win 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Senegal slated for September 6 at Grande Stade Marrakesh, Morocco.
Kalungi has made 118 appearances with the Kickers over the past five seasons, logging over 10,000 minutes while contributing to 49 shutouts. Named team captain in 2012, he has anchored one of the league’s best defensive units en route to the 2009 USL PRO Championship, 2010 USL PRO Finals and 2011 U.S. Open Cup Semifinals.
