Gracie Hazelton, a young lady with physical disabilities, died August 2012. Gracie had a love of soccer that started at a young age. Her passion began as she watched and cheered for her two young brothers play on the soccer field week after week.
Her brother, Ben, became a buddy for special needs athletes much to his sister’s delight. Gracie was able to experience the same enthusiasm for the sport watching her brother engage in new soccer programs developed to accommodate athletes with special needs.
Gracie loved the interaction and smiles on the faces of peers, volunteers and athletes who participated in this inclusive soccer. Mostly, Gracie was a soccer enthusiast who supported her brothers and our local professional team (flirted with a few of the players too!).
Her love and dedication of these programs brought happiness to those who loved Gracie, including her family, friends, and caregivers.
