Kickers Captain Plays Integral Part in 1-1 Tie with Senegal

Kickers defender Henry Kalungi earned his sixth international cap, representing Uganda during a 1-1 draw against Senegal in Saturday’s 2014 World Cup Qualifier.

Playing the full 90 minutes for the second time in as many games, the Kickers captain was an integral component in stopping Newcastle United striker Papis Demba Cisse.

An 87th minute penalty, scored by Cranes defender Godfrey Walusimbi, cancelled out Cisse’s 37th minute goal for Senegal.  The results leaves Senegal at the top of Group J with four points after two games while the Cranes remain undefeated in second place with two points. The other two teams in the group, Liberia and Angola, play later this weekend in Monrovia.
