RICHMOND, VA — (Friday, October 13, 2017) — The Richmond Kickers (8-15-8) will play the final match of their 25th anniversary season Saturday night as they travel to take on the Eastern Conference leading Louisville City FC (17-6-8) at Louisville Slugger Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The match will available live on the Kickers Official Television Partners WTVR CBS 6 via their 6.3 sub channel (Comcast 206, Verizon FiOS 466) and streaming online through the USL Match Center. Väsen Brewing Company will host the Official Watch Party Saturday night and will buy the first beer for any fans that are wearing a red Kickers jersey.

Louisville has dominated the series against the Kickers with an overall record of 0-4-2 since the first meeting between the two clubs in April of 2015. Meeting earlier this season, Louisville escaped City Stadium with a 1-0 victory on April 8. The Kickers conceded a penalty kick when the referee whistled a handball inside the box on Chris Durkin in the 81st minute. Former Kickers midfielder George Davis IV converted from the spot for the Louisville goal, putting it in the bottom left corner and out of reach of Eric Klenofsky, on loan from the Kickers MLS affiliate D.C. United. Louisville Slugger Field has not been a welcoming environment for the Kickers, with Richmond having yet to score or earn a point at the venue in three attempts.

Matthew Bolduc scored his second goal of the season to give the Kickers their second victory in three matches Saturday night on the road at Saint Louis FC. Coming out of the halftime break scoreless, the Kickers just needed 33 seconds to start the second half to net the game winner. Mikey Minutillo won the ball in the midfield and made a run straight up the center of the field. Before he was met by a defender, Minutillo played the ball to his right to Jackson Eskay. With a defender in his way, Eskay played the ball to his right as Bolduc made a run in towards goal, slipping his shot under a diving Devala Gorrick. Travis Worra recorded four saves in the match to seal the road shutout and earning a spot on the USL Team of the Week.

Getting their first win in four matches, the Eastern Conference leading Louisville City FC picked up a 2-1 home win over the Charlotte Independence last Saturday. Louisville took the advantage in the 57th minute from George Davis IV. The Independence leveled the score in the 66th minute as Caleb Calvert, on loan from the Colorado Rapids found the back of the net off a breakaway run. Brian Ownby gave the home team the lead in the 77th minute which would stand as the game winner to take all three points.
