MEET THE COACHES

Luke Vercollone, Little KICKS Director
After helping Seton Hall University to 3 straight NCAA tournament appearances (captain, 1st Team All Big East Conference), Luke was drafted into the MLS in 2004 and played 2 seasons with the New England Revolution. He has played professional soccer at all levels in the U.S. including 2 national champion PDL Seasons with the Cape Cod Crusaders (02, 03, captain and MVP). Following an MLS Finals with the Revolution in 2005, Vercollone signed with the Charleston Battery (USL I) for 2 successful seasons followed by a move to Richmond where he has been playing since 2008 (2010 USL First Team All League). Luke coaches with the Kickers youth club, has his NSCAA Advanced Regional Coaching diploma and United States Soccer Federation National B License, and has over 15 years of coaching experience. Vercollone Credits his successful coaching style to the 10 summers he got to teach the youth at soccer camp, playing with and helping his 9 younger siblings, and the top level coaching he’s received throughout his career. He earned a BA in Sports Management from Seton Hall.

Matthew Delicâte
Richmond Kickers, Forward
Forward Matt Delicâte rejoins the Kickers after spending 3 seasons in NY with the Rochester Rhinos where he was on their all-time scoring list with 19 goals.  Coming to VCU from Kent England, Matt enter his first professional soccer season with the Richmond Kickers in 2004 where he spent 2 seasons.  Delicâte lead VCU as their career leader with 44 goals and 13 assists.  This natural goal scorer didn’t slow down on his return to Richmond in 2009 where he led the league in goals (13)! Matt has his USSF National B License.  He currently coaches 2 Kickers youth teams and has loads of youth coaching experience.  With Little KICKS since 2009.

Henry Kalungi
Richmond Kickers, Defender
Former U-20 Uganda National Team standout Henry Kalungi brings strength and talent to Richmond Kickers back line.  Starting every game in his rookie season (2009) with the Kickers, Henry led all field players in minutes, anchoring the league’s best defense.  Kalungi graduated from Winthrop University where he earned “All-Big South” team honors and Team MVP (2006).  He played his summer ball with the Fredericksburg Gunners and has coached with the Kickers and Little KICKS since 2009.
 
Ross Mackenzie
Richmond Kickers, Midfielder
Ross Mackenzie finished his first season with the Richmond Kickers (2009) after playing with the Carolina RailHawks of the USL First Division (2008) and Wilmington Hammerheads (2007).  Mackenzie registered four goals and four assists during his rookie professional season with the Hammerheads. A 2006 graduate of Old Dominion University, Mackenzie captained and led the Monarchs to the Sweet 16 his senior year. Finishing third on the team in points with 13 that season, the 5’11” midfielder tallied 14 goals and added 13 assists for 41 points during his collegiate career. Born in Scotland, Ross came to Virginia for High School and played PDL soccer for the Kickers throughout his college career. He is the Kickers ADP Director, Recreation Director and has been coaching with Little KICKS since 2009.

William Yomby
Richmond Kickers, Defender
William was drafted into the MLS and has been playing professional soccer since 2006 after Graduating from Old Dominion University.  He was honored as the 2009 USL-2 Defender of the Year and USL First Team in 2010.  Yomby currently coaches with the Kickers youth club and has been coaching youngsters with Little KICKS since 2009.

David Bulow
Richmond Kickers, Forward
Bulow is a veteran pro who has been playing all over the globe at different levels since 2003.  He has a National title in the PDL with the Cape Cod Crusaders and led the Kickers to the National Championship in 2009 as finals MVP.  Bulow is the US Open Cup all-time goal scoring leader after taking the Kickers to the semi-finals in 2011.  David coaches with the Kickers and has been working with youngsters since 2005.

Gerson Dos Santos
Richmond Kickers, Midfielder
The Brazilian powerhouse recorded a pair of goals in 2010, earning USL-2 Team of the Week honors for the first time of his career.    A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dos Santos made 45 appearances with the VCU Rams over three seasons earning All-CAA First Team honors.  He brings his years of experience of coaching Futsol to Little KICKS where he has been coaching since 2010.

Stanley Nyazamba
Richmond Kickers, Midfielder
Stanley lead his class in the USL in 2008 earning Rookie of the Year honors.  He went on to win an MLS Championship with the Columbus Crew the following season and has since returned to the Kickers.  He has a passion for instructing young players and coaches with the youth club and Little KICKS.

Jamel Wallace
Richmond Kickers, Defender
Drafted in the fourth round by the Seattle Sounders of MLS in the 2010 MLS Superdraft and later signed with the Kitsap Pumas of the USL Premier Developmental League.  Named to the Second Team All Pac-10 team. Wallace tallied three goals from sixteen shots taken, and seven of those on goal.  Has been coaching with the Kickers since 2011 and enjoys sharing his passion for soccer with youngsters.

Shaka Bangura
Richmond Kickers, Forward
Originally from Sierra Leone, Shaka was signed by the Kickers after a season with the Puerto Rico Islanders (USL) where he helped them to 2010 League Championship and Caribbean Footbal Union Club Championship titles. Bangura spent four seasons at Montreat College. During his Freshman year, Bangura picked up AAC Freshman of the Year honors along with being named to the AAC All-Conference team. In his sophomore season, Bangura was named the AAC Player of the Year, named to the AAC All-Conference team and the NAIA All-Region team.  Shaka has coached youngsters at summer camps and looks forward to teaching Little KICKS students.

VCU graduate; Grew up in Tennessee; Experienced youth coach; with Little KICKS since 2009.

David Cascante
VCU Men’s Soccer
David brings his international soccer experience to Little KICKS from his childhood in Costa Rica.  He then played collegiate ball at VCU and has been coaching for the Richmond Kickers since 2006.  He has coached the JV and Varsity Girl’s teams at Patrick Henry HS. David is a USSF C Licensed coach with a desire to share his knowledge with youngsters.

Sean Bolger
James Madison University
Sean grew up in Harrisonburg, VA before playing soccer at James Madison University.  He now lives in Richmond where he has been coaching with the Richmond Kickers and Little KICKS since 2009.
