RICHMOND, VA - (Saturday, February 14, 2009) – Richmond Kickers Indoor of the Premier Arena Soccer League concluded the 2008-09 regular home season with an 8-4 win over the Fredericksburg Generals on Saturday night in front of the sixth consecutive sellout crowd.  The win solidified the Kickers’ position at the top of the table with a 5-1-0 record and one match-up remaining.  The Kickers will travel to Winchester tomorrow, Sunday, February 15th to battle for the regular season title against the Impact who trail by just three points.  Stay tuned to RichmondKickers.com for all of the upcoming postseason information. 

Richmond Kickers Indoor finished the home regular season in style, downing the Generals for the second time during the 2008-09 campaign.  Kickers Indoor midfielder Chris Green opened scoring 10 minutes in with Matt Cooper adding the second tally of the night 30 seconds later.  A back-and-forth affair ensued as Generals forward Steven Rupp notched a pair of goals to even the score.  Two low-scoring quarters followed as Kickers newcomer Jake Van Yahres and Kofi Nti each tallied a goal apiece while goalkeeper Tommy Wendle held the I-95 rivals scoreless.  An exciting fourth quarter saw Kickers midfielder Andy McIntosh register twice and an unfortunate own goal broke the ice for Fredericksburg.  McIntosh led the team with 14 shots and Nti earned game MVP honors for his goal and assist.
