KICKERS INDOOR RETURNS TO SCOR SATURDAY
Host Winchester Impact and Regular Season Home Opener, 7pm

RICHMOND, VA - (Tuesday, December 2, 2008) – Richmond Kickers Indoor of the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) opened the 2008-09 home season with a 6-4 exhibition win over Fredericksburg in front of a sellout crowd.  Expecting to fill SCOR to capacity again this weekend, Kickers Indoor hosts the Winchester Impact Saturday, December 6th to commence regular season play.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm at SCOR, Sports Center of Richmond.  Tickets are just $5.00 per person and are on sale now via RichmondKickers.com.  Space is limited and the first 100 fans through the door will receive a free gift courtesy of Crossridge Family & Cosmetic Dentistry.

Taking the field at SCOR for the first time last weekend, Kickers Indoor topped their I-95 rivals, Fredericksburg Generals, last Sunday on a pair of goals each by Kickers pro Luke Vercollone and CVSA premier league player Chris Green.  Former Kickers pro Kofi Nti added a goal and an assist to round out the 6-4 scoreline.  One night prior, Kickers Indoor made their debut on the road in Fredericksburg during the preseason home and away exhibition series.  Kickers Director of Soccer Camps Andy McIntosh posted a hat trick and gave the Kickers the lead at the half but the visiting team fell in the end to the Generals 7-4.

Meanwhile, the Winchester Impact enter into their sophomore PASL season after concluding the 2007-08 season with a second place regular season finish in the Mid-Atlantic division and a quarterfinal run into the national tournament.  After starting their inaugural season winless through their first four fixtures, the Impact turned out seven wins in their last eight regular season games to challenge Fredericksburg for the first place spot in the division.

Richmond Kickers Indoor 2008-09 Schedule Finalized
Following this weekend’s regular season home opener, Kickers Indoor will take to the road on Friday, December 19th to face Virginia Legacy.  Swapping home field advantage, the Legacy will travel to Richmond on Saturday, January 24th before Kickers Indoor takes to the road for the next two, including a match-up with the Maryland Tigers and Fredericksburg Generals on January 25th and 31st, respectively.  A two-game, February home stand will follow as Kickers Indoor hosts Maryland and Fredericksburg on Saturday, February 7th and Saturday, February 14th before concluding the 2008-09 regular season on the road against the Winchester Impact on February 15th.  Kick Out Cancer, an All-Stars charity match, benefiting Connor’s Heroes will be held on Saturday, December 20th, supplementing the regular season schedule.
