The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce an enhanced partnership with RoomStore World, the Official Furniture Retailer of the Richmond Kickers, located at 9901 West Broad Street in Richmond.  The Kickers and RoomStore World plan to kick off the 2010 season with the Kickers Karnival at RoomStore World on March 27, 11am-2pm.  Kickers Karnival at RoomStore World will feature live music, inflatable games, free food for the first 200 visitors, discounts on merchandise and fun for the whole family.  Kickers pro soccer players will be available for autographs, alongside the Kickers new mascot, RoomStore Kickeroo.  Admission is free.

The U14 Pre-Academy program targets the region’s most talented players from the 98, 97, and 96 pools. The program provides an environment that prepares selected players for the skills, expectations and demands needed for Academy level play. The program is the highest level of soccer a U14 player can participate in to advance his soccer skills and talents. We plan on continuing to follow last season’s PreAcademy model which included two practices per week December through February with an 8-12 game schedule.

The Richmond Kickers will hold U16 (birth year 94 and 95) & U18 Boys (birth year 92 and 93) US Soccer Development Academy Tryouts and U14 (birth year 96, 97 and 98) Boys Pre-Academy Tryouts for the 2010-2011 season on Saturday, March 20 at Ukrop Park.  Tryouts for the U14 Pre-Academy will be held 9am-11am, while the U16/U18 Academy Tryouts will take place  12pm-2pm Virginia’s most talented players are encouraged to participate.  Click HERE to register.  For more information, please contact Jesse Myers at jmyers@richmondkickers.com.

The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce the addition of Charlie Reiter out of Davidson College, Stephen Nsekero out of Winthrop University and former Real Maryland Monarchs forward David Hertel.  Discovered at the Kickers 2010 Combine last month, Reiter, Nsereko and Hertel will be available for preseason pending USSF approval.

TAMPA, FL (Monday, March 8, 2010) – United Soccer Leagues announced the Girls Super Y-League (SYL) ODP Select Teams following the 2010 SYL ODP National Camps held this past weekend in Tampa, Florida, honoring three Kickers players Ashley Riefner, Morgan Conklin and Lizzie Patrick. Girls named to the 2010 SYL ODP Select Teams are recommended to the U.S. National Team Staff Coaches for participation in U.S. National Team Programs.

Richmond Kickers youth players will make their mark at colleges across the country this fall as the club confirmed nine players have so far committed to college.  Meanwhile, numerous other players continue the important process of selecting the institution that compliments their goals and aspirations. 

The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce the 2010 camp schedule, which opens with the Spring Break Camp on April 5th.  Registrations for the Spring Break Camp received by Friday, March 12th include a family-four pack of tickets to the Richmond Kickers home opening Pro-Am Challenge featuring the NCAA Champions University of Virginia on Saturday, April 3rd.  With the exception of the All-Access Pass, Season Passes are not valid for this match. 

Ukrop Park, home of the Richmond Kickers, has been identified as a potential team base camp to be included in the United States bid for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups™. The sports complex has been chosen as a possible training camp to host one of the 32 competing soccer nations, if the USA is awarded the honor to host either the 2018 or 2022 events. Team Base Camps will provide the visiting teams with a ‘home away from home’ and outstanding fitness and training facilities to help them in their final preparations for the biggest sporting event in the world.
