The Richmond Kickers U17 Girls Elite arrived back in Richmond late Tuesday night after three strong performances in San Diego at the prestigious Surf Cup College Showcase. 

After opening the event with a disappointing tie against the #14 ranked team in the country, Santa Rosa from Northern California, the girls rallied for the second game of the day, narrowly conceding a late goal to Washington State Cup champion, Eastside, to squander valuable points that led to a 1-1 tie. 

In the final game of pool play, against the #25 ranked team, West Coast FC, the girls lost 2-1 after surrendering two early goals. 

Once again, the girls were in the spotlight with coaches from top conferences from across the country attending their games and evaluating the players.  Coaches in attendance included:
