DIRAIMONDO ON LOAN THIS WEEKEND
D.C. United Midfielder Joins Kickers For Saturday’s Game

RICHMOND, VA - (Friday, May 29, 2009) – The Richmond Kickers are pleased to have D.C. United midfielder John DiRaimondo on loan for this weekend’s match against the Western Mass Pioneers.  Saturday’s match will be the second in a Kickers uniform for DiRaimondo who traveled to Bermuda with the Kickers earlier this month.

The 5’7" midfielder was drafted by the Colorado Rapids in the First Round of the 2007 Supplemental Draft.  He helped lead the Rapids reserves to its second straight MLS Reserve Division Championship after posting a 7-0-3 record.  He was one of only two players to appear in 10 reserve matches, notching one goal.  DiRaimondo made his professional debut as a starter for the Rapids early in 2008.  Overall last season he made 11 appearances for 714 minutes.  He tallied his first professional goal against the Kansas City Wizards on April 5th.

A native of St. Louis, MO, DiRaimondo was a four-year starter at St. Louis University.  A two-time First Team All-A10 Conference honoree, he was a Herman Trophy semifinalist, scoring five goals and recording five assists his senior year.  DiRaimondo also played with the U.S. U-20 National Team in a 2004 tour of Korea and was a member of the U-17 National Team that played in the U-17 World Cup in Finland.
