Richmond Kickers Ticket Sales Intern

Description: The Richmond Kickers professional soccer team (USL2) offers broad-based educational experiences in the field of athletics to candidates seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced, interactive and professional environment. The Ticket Sales Intern will support the sales department through ticket sales programs and events, prospecting new clients, managing databases, planning events and building solid working relationships with new and current clientele. Hours range from 20-30 hours per week, in addition to working games and special events. Flexible schedule, willingness to work weekends and access to transportation is necessary.
Minimum Position Duties and Responsibilities:
• Generate ticket sales revenue with assigned goals through season tickets, group sales, corporate events and birthday parties
• Make 50-75 calls per day to new clients plus supplemental calls to existing clients
• Maintain detailed database and email/direct mail follow-up information on programs
• Submit weekly call report to Vice President, Sales & Marketing
• Contribute creative promotions to further develop fan base
• Assist with game-day operations and logistics
• Assist with operations, public relations and special projects as needed
Minimum Position Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate or graduate students preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet
• Excellent writing, telephone and interpersonal skills
• Highly motivated and reliable self-starter who works well in a team environment
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and interacts professionally with fans
• Knowledge and passion for soccer
Compensation: Base salary, plus commission. Can receive college credit.
